Hello Monday!

The weekend was really wonderful until I was waking up Saturday night with the driest throat! Thank goodness Kurt kept coming in and waking me up with water! So now im all stuffed up. Boo!

BUT I do have a load of photos of stuff I’ve bee meaning to show you for ages. I usually have atleast a handful of projects going on and that doesnt count my store. So I thought I’d share what I’m up to!

Firstly, I have to say…HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little chimpies, Alucard and Wolfy! Its their first birthday….and I’m so excited!

Projects!I made this little owl cushion. Fun? I love tartan and plaid….and I never think it clashes!I started this Marie Antoinette piece on Sunday. I’m really excited about doing lots of other historian figures. The queen of france is one of my most favoured subjects, but next I’ll be doing something pride and prejudice (from the bbc version) and i have so many other ideas…pages full infact! I’ve already made a few mistakes with this one, the pattern and a few wrong stitch ideas, but no doubt they’ll be hidden once finished!

Remember me telling you about the scrapbook I wanted to make for my Nan? Well here it is! I’ve about halfway finished, I worked on it all Saturday morning. It looks exactly how I want, fun, colorful and crafty! I loved just gonig through my supplies and using it in differant ways. I’ve never done that before and I had so much fun doing it! Its getting really thick because of all the stuff I’ve used inside!

Well, I must go now. I have some celebrating to do with my little furry kids!

Link me up Tuesday!

Okay, I love my blog. I love blogging and writing fun things and all that jazz. But sometimes I am stumped as what to write! So I’m going to slowly bring in a blog schedule so you can look forward to certain types of posts on certain days. Plus I’ll be blogging as usual if I have something exciting to say! Which is always….right?!?!

So Tuesdays are going to be ‘Link me up Tuesdays’! Clever? Yes, thought of it all by myself!

I love it when people share really great links to shops, blogs or inspirations sites! I’ve loads that I use for all different kinds of purposes! I love reading about anything to do with crafting, baking, gardening, photography, diy, tutorials, inspiration, vintage fashion, millinery, old films, costumer-ism….really anything! So heres my links for today….I’ll be back later with a new Product that I made for my store!

This blog is so inspiring and has loads of free downloads for scrap booking and loads of other projects.

Here are some Etsy shops great for vintage supplies, really pretty fabrics and amazing vintage nik naks.

My friend Andrew is an amazing photographer….he knows so much about cameras my mind boggles!

This ladies house is amazing. I hope mine looks something like this one day.

I love this London style Blog.

Spoonflower is a great website for getting your fabric designs printed but also has amazing fabrics that you can buy from the designers! I love this one especially but there are so many to choose from!

I’ve never done scrap booking apart from when I went to a scrapbook party once. We just made one page with some photos. I think I used photos of me and my friends from primary school and the year 7 formal. I’ll have to see if my Mum can take a photo of it, I’d love to see what I made. Anyway so I bought a 12×12 scrapbook album when it was on sale once in the hopes of doing it one day. Then I had a brilliant idea to make one for my Nanny. My mum has visited me loads since I’ve lived here but unfortunately my Nanny cant get over here. So I thought I’d so a scrapbook of the past 3 years of my life since living here. I really, actually had no idea where to start. I’ve had some great inspiration from flickr and a beautiful mess so I think I’ve got a few ideas on hwere to start. BUT if you know of any good links to shops or inspiration then please pass them along! I shall be updating you as soon as I start my little project which should be this weekend!

The weather is lovely here in London (at the moment) so a few of us are making our way to the Uxbridge car boot on Saturday morning (super early). I’m on the look out for anything I can rework. Vintage books, clothing, fabrics anything like that. Also want to look out for old papers, photographs and any kind of old paper bits for scrap booking. My Nanny will love it if its all vintage!

Bye for now. See you tomorrow for Inspirational Wednesday!

Have fun xxxx

Guess what?

I’ve been worknig on a side project for the past few months….and im so close to revealing it!

I’m often torn between making really fun glamorous things for MissMors and wanting to make crafty handmade things! So….what would be the best solution? Open another store ofcourse!

MissMors is always my priority as its my number one passion. But sometimes I feel like something a little craftier! I will be selling hand embroidered buttons, handmade pin cushions, embroidered items and loads of other cool crafty items! I’m also working on embroidery patterns and fabric designed by your truly!

I will be posting the opening date soon, should be in the next week or so!

Introduction

I’ve been inspired by this blog to do a fun introduction post. So here goes!

This is me and my name is Karla…

IMG_4432I was born in Brisbane, Australia and moved to London Town 3 years ago when I was 19! Yikes! I love living in London there is always so much going on, but sometimes I really miss Australias weather! My Mum was born in Northern England and when she was 5 they moved to Australia! More on that in another post sometime!

I love to make pretty things for pretty girls and I sell them in my shop here!

Clipboard01gfg

I have 2 cats and they really are the best cats ever…we have had them since birth and they are brothers. We should have named them Murphy and Connor after the boondock saints! But we called them….

Alucard!

srgggafter the Hellsing character? (all Kurts ideas)!

He is super snuggly and wakes me up every morning for a snuggle! And he follows you everywhere which I love! But hes very bratty and likes to find my hair elastics and play with them…I have to keep them up high and out of sight!

And….

Wolfy!

IMG_4984

I named him that because he looked like a snow wolf when he was a wee kitten!

No human on earth can pat little wolfy without getting licked. He really is like a wolf, the minute you pat his back or tickle his tummy he’ll lick you into oblivion ahahaha. He gets really grumpy with Alucard if he’s sitting on my sewing chair because thats his favorite spot!

They do everything together! They have never faught eachother just bundles of brotherly love!

This is my boyfriend…

Kurt!

n608486314_233649_5675This photo is really old but its my favorite one of Kurt. This is about 3 months after we met and we went to London Zoo!  I call him Kurtis and I really dont know why. He is a super clever boy and has his own business making lots of clever things on the computer with really complicated programs! He collects kozik and kubrock vinyl toys. He reads a lot of comics and has pretty much every zombie movie ever made. And he is obsessed with Japan….even more than me!

I love

12941_202796268416_771828416_4010382_133387_nMacaroons! I had tried so many in Paris that I nearly turned into one!

  • I’ve recently taken up embroidery and its my favorite hobby to date!
  • I used to have black hair! I stripped it out over 2 years ago, and I love having my natural ginger hair back!
  • I dont eat the end of sausages! its just really weird. But luckily for me Kurt eats them for me!
  • When I first met Kurt I knew we were perfect for eachother because we both have gaps in our 2 front teeth!
  • Im really obsessed with titanic…every time I watch the film I cry more than the time before. I’ll read anything about titanic and I’ll remember every detail!
  • I love perfume, I do have a lot, but I really enjoy researching perfume and scents!
  • I really love tattoos! I have a couple but I’m not one for showing them off because im too shy for that!
  • I really love watching 80s and 90s films with womens power suits and big wavy hair. Like something with Eddi murphy or Melanie Griffith!
  • Im a mega Sci-fi geek! I love star wars, star trek, Red dwarf, aliens and star gate! My parents used to watch it all the time so it rubbed off. I love lord of the rings and any kind of fantasy film like that.
  • Me and Kurt both love Night at the Roxbury and yes we could talk about movies and good tv shows all day longgggg…
  • I love buying stationery…wether its plain copier paper or kawaii stuff I get really excited!
  • I cant answer the door. It really scares me! Hello? Scary movie Drew Barrymore? No thank-you! Kurt answers it!
  • I dont smile too much in photos because i look extremely goofy!
  • I collect these.
  • I’m always buying tea pots and tea sets and always love to drink blackberry and apple tea!

Okay thats enough…..hope you are still awake! Going now to have some ice cream to soothe my sore throat!

What a week!

I really have loads of things to blog about but this week has been busy (even though I’ve felt like I’ve done nothing)!

My birthday is next Monday and I’m really excited because Kurt and I have planned a lovely weekend to celebrate. On Sunday we are gonig to the Frock Me! Vintage fashion fair in Chelsea. I’ve never been to a vintage fair before so I’m really excited. I’ll be looking for new tilt hats and summer dresses. Then on Monday we are gonig into central london to do a spot of shopping at Vivienne Westwood and Irregular choice. And I’m hoping to pop along to the Laduree which is jsut around the corner from Alexander Mcqueen.

Last week I got a parcel from my lovley Mum in Australia containnig lots of goodies! Including this cool cupcake book.

Plus a gorgeous owl necklace from an etsy seller that was at a craft fair in Brisbane (bless Mum for supporting handmade). Lip balm, fabrics, texta pens, sewing patterns, a polka dot tin (perfect for storing buttons and bits) and this amazing shopper bag that she made! It looks like a strawberry with a drawstring and then it folds out into a shopper bag, perfect for putting in my tote. Mum used green and pink gingham and some strawberry fabric for the front. I need to show you pics its so cool!

Today I bought myself the hummingbird bakery recipe book. By golly there are some amazing looking recipes! I’m eager to try out the green tea cupcake recipe. YUM!

Well I have to go now, making Kurt a very special dinner, hes been working day and night on this new project and desrves something nice.

Will hopefully psot my flower belt tutorial tomorrow!

Is the weekend over already?

Well atleast I got lots of work done! Kurt and I had a lovely day yesterday,  we went to a farmers market in Burough just near London Bridge station. We got an amazingly sized lobster and some other seafood and also a black truffle! The lobster was lovely, but I’ve never really liked that kind of seafood but it was lovely none the less.

IMG_4819

In other news I photographed some new items for my store. Some of it I had been working on prototypes for a while now so its nice to finally have a finsihed product!

IMG_4800

Kurt caught this amazing photo of the cats with Alucard sitting like a meer cat! ahahaaha cute!

IMG_4878IMG_4971IMG_4834IMG_4907Sorry for the pile of photos! These are the 1940s inspired hats I’ve been working on lately. They sit just perfectly and are the perfect size. I am going to add differant types and customise the look even more. But there ones are great for daywear. I will hopefully be enrolling to London College of Fashion next week for a course in Millinery! I’m very excited, as I will be able to take my ideas even further!

I’m also making these double flower pieces in time for Spring/Summer. I also have red roses and purple flowers that should be out next weekend.

Not much else to say except I’m working on a Tara Mcpherson embroidery piece that I’m itching to get back to.

Bye bye!
